Shravathi Boating Adventures offers a truly memorable way to experience the mangrove ecosystem. Mangrove forests are not very common, so most visitors come here with a lot of curiosity—and the experience genuinely lives up to it without any doubt. The boat rides here are not government-regulated and are operated by local people. There is no fixed or standard pricing; fares vary depending on demand, ride duration, and the number of people. Having good bargaining skills helps reduce the chances of overpaying. That said, this is not meant to generalize everyone—there are genuine and helpful people as well. There is a small refreshment shop at the boating starting point, and photography/photoshoot services are also available on-site, which can be hired if needed. The most concerning part is that this place is not solo-traveler friendly at all. If you’re visiting as a group, you can pay the amount and start the ride without much hassle. However, for solo travelers, it’s quite difficult. I visited on a Friday, and prices ranged from ₹800 to ₹2,500, depending on ride duration and the number of spots covered. I wanted to take the full ₹2,500 ride, but paying that amount alone wasn’t feasible. Ideally, collaborating with other solo travelers to share the cost would make sense, but the boat drivers and agents strictly do not allow such collaboration unless the group already knows each other (as per one of the agents, it was said this was to avoid inter group or person conflicts in mid boat journey). I ended up waiting nearly two hours, discreetly approaching families and groups on my own, until a kind family agreed to share the ride with me. The boat ride itself was mesmerizing and breathtaking, passing through deep mangrove forests and coconut plantations along the riverbanks. After bargaining, the final cost was ₹2,000 (reduced from ₹2,500), and the 1 hour 15 minutes journey felt completely worth it. However, later I realized that some of the locations promised as part of the package were not covered. During the ride, they also stop near another boat where tea, cool drinks, and snacks are available. This added to the overall experience, and the pricing there was reasonable. On the safety front, I noticed 25 or more people traveling in a single boat. The boat was originally single-level but modified into a two-level structure. No life jackets were provided, and there was no regulation on the number of passengers allowed. While this may not seem alarming immediately, it could become a serious concern in the event of any mishap. Despite these shortcomings, the mangrove ecosystem itself was an exceptional and fulfilling experience, making it truly worthwhile to witness, even amidst these challenges.

It a ride one must not miss. It’s better that the one in back water in Kerala. We have Palm trees that curve and grow up. Mangrove roots coming up from the water is a natures marvel one should see. There was a mini lotus pond where you can see the bottom and it has a depth of 8 feet. Lot of lovely memories

Waste of providing 300 rs for boating , they promised 1hr of boating but totally wasted the time
